AI Search Optimization

Nobody types “plumber near me” into ChatGPT.

They describe the whole situation instead, and the AI goes looking for a business whose website and reviews match the details. Ranking first on Google contributes nothing to that match. This is the work that does.

The garbage disposal problem

Somebody's disposal is making a noise they can't describe, so they tell ChatGPT exactly that, in a paragraph, with the sound and the model and how long it's been happening.

ChatGPT doesn't look for whoever ranks first for plumber near me. It reads local plumbers' websites and their reviews, hunting for one that has said something about that specific noise. If you've written about it, you get named. If you haven't, somebody else does.

That's the whole game, and it's winnable right now because almost no local business is playing it.

What we build

  • Trust content, per service. What it costs and what moves the price. What commonly goes wrong and what each symptom means. Who shouldn't buy it. When to repair instead of replace. So what? Because those four are what people actually ask AI about, and your competitors have written none of them.
  • Answers at the top, not paragraph eight. An AI reads a page in chunks and takes the one that leads with a clean answer. So what? Because burying the answer under three paragraphs of company history is how you lose a citation to somebody with worse information.
  • Questions as headings, in your customer's words. Not “Water Heater Pricing.” The actual sentence somebody types at eleven at night. So what? Because matching their language is most of the match.
  • Bing Places, mirrored from your Google profile. Assistants draw on search indexes and business listings, and Bing Places is one of the sources in that set. So what? Because almost no contractor has ever claimed it, so it is cheap ground to take, and a listing nobody maintains is one more place your details are wrong.
  • Reviews aimed at attributes. We ask your customers to describe what happened and how it turned out, instead of just asking for stars. So what? Because AI systems read review text looking for specifics, and 'great service' matches nothing.

What we're honest about

AI search is a real and growing share of how people find local businesses. ChatGPT use for local recommendations went from 6 percent of consumers to 45 percent in a year. It's still a fraction of what the map pack sends you today.

So we don't sell this instead of local SEO. We sell it alongside, because the work also makes your pages convert better and answers the questions your phone staff are already fielding. If AI search keeps growing the way it has, you're early. If it stalls, you still have the best service pages in your market.

Questions we get asked

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend me?

No, and anybody who does is selling something. The same prompt asked twice returns different businesses, and ChatGPT personalizes on what it already knows about that user. We build the inputs it reads and we're straight with you about the rest.

How do you measure it?

AI referral traffic in Google Analytics, plus branded search volume. Both undercount, because plenty of people get a recommendation from an AI and then search your name on Google. We'd rather show you an honest undercount than a tracker that invents a rank number.

Isn't this just blogging?

No. A blog post about tankless water heaters used to pull national traffic that was worthless to a local plumber. AI hands that same question to a local searcher, which is what changed.

Do I need this if my map rankings are good?

They're separate scores. Being first in the map pack has no bearing on whether an AI names you when somebody describes a problem in a paragraph.
